3x3 Cards and Mini Tote

Just a little change from the normal layouts. I stamped the leaf image and colored them with my Prisma Watercolor pencils, then added Antique Lace stickles after it was dry I added decoupage sealer to them and cut them out.
I then found this lil tote template and knew it would be a perfect way to hold all 6 mini cards.

Scrap That Color Challenge...Autumn Splendor

This layout I created for the color challenge at SCRAP THAT. Please join me in this challenge by creating a card, layout or anything that inspires you.
The photo was taken on a country road in Michigan...
The flowers were very simple to make. Cut a circle from cardstock apply a thick layer of tacky glue...let set for a couple minutes...then take and twist a piece of wired ribbon and start forming a tight circle...after you get the center going lay it on the center of the circle and continue wrapping until you cover the entire circle. I used a clip to hold the end until it dryed.

Details:
Basic Grey -Ambrosia paper
Tim Holtz- Idea-ology
Pink Paislee - Patches
Ranger - Distress Ink (walnut & tea dye)
Wired ribbon - dollar store
Leaf Ribbon - local scrap store

What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a Butterfly.

This is a layout I did for a Blog Inspiration Challenge over at Coordinates Collections. The pictures were taken when we were in Kentucky, this past August. We stopped at a scenic overlook before arriving at Mammoth Cave and the entire valley was filled with butterflys.

Christmas in September.....

Well not really, but it was sweet opening the package I won from SCRAP THAT. LQQk at all this yummy stuff can't wait to start playing!

I made some Banana bread yesterday and while digging through my recipes I decided it was time to make a recipe book. So here is a quick page I did. It's an 8x8 page made with Stamp-In Up cardstock and misc papers from my stash.

I'm also going to make a mini 6x6 one for my son...nothing fancy just so he has his fav recipes on hand. He's always calling me and asking how I make this or that. LOL

Nothing new to post today...

I started knitting a hat yesterday and got about halfway done and didn't like the way it was turning out, so I ripped it out and I'm starting over. LOL.
We had lunch with a friend today and afterwards I went to Carolina Stampers and picked up some new Graphic 45 and also some yummy Basic Grey. On our way back home we stopped at TJ Max and I found more scrapping treasures...I picked up a pack of Anna Griffins paper for $3.99 and some chip board Alphas and a pack of Anna Griffin ribbon tape for $1.99...love finding my scrappy stuff on sale like that.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I'm going to watch a movie and knit for awhile.

Altered Cork Board

Hi my blogger friends...hope you are having a great Friday!! This morning we got up and went walking on the beach, it was a beautiful morning. The beach was not crowded and it was low tide making it a lovely stroll. I then went to Wally World and found some yarn, going to knit a hat. But before I get to knitting I wanted to share with you this altered Cork Board I made for my scrap room. I have two of these hanging up just over my desk and they were so blah...so I decided to jazz them up a bit.The red strip on the left of the board is a pin cushion for my needles.

Butterfly Tutorial...

Supplies:
Printed butterflies- Here is where I got some of mine
Glossy Accents
Diamond Stickles
Perfect pearls (optional)
Outline the entire butterfly with stickles.
Then cover the entire butterfly with glossy accents. Let dry. You can speed up the process with a heat gun, but don't hold it to close or it will bubble and ruin your butterfly.
Apply liquid embossing to the body. You can skip this part and just add pearls or rhinestones.
Your completed dimensional butterfly!
Here's another variation.
Supplies:
Perfect Pearls
Perfect Pearls Medium
Glitter Glue
Martha Stewart Decoupage Sealer
Dab the butterfly with the Perfect Pearl medium. Apply a thin coat of the perfect pearls to each wing.
Apply a small amount of the sparkly glitter to each wing and spread with your finger to cover the entire butterfly.
Then apply a thin layer of decoupage & let dry.
Your finished butterfly!
If you have any questions on this tutorial...please feel free to leave a comment and I'll get right back with you. I would love to see your variations on the butterfly, drop me a line if you make these.

Rose Flower Tutorial

Supplies:
3 - 6 petal flowers any size
(I used my cricut cart -Plantin Schoolbook - 2 3/4 " flower)
Cardstock or pattern paper
Tacky Glue
Sissors
Chalk or Ink
Small crochet hook or something similar
Cut a slit in one flower
Next cut one petal off 2nd flower
Then cut two petals off the 3rd flower
Save the petals, you will use them later.
Ink all the edges...
Add a dab of glue to each of the petals you have cut.
Fold over the petal so that it overlaps onto the petal that you applied glue to...
Curl each petal...the more you work with it the easier it is to manipulate. Kinda breaks down the cardstock and shapes easier.
Roll up the remaining petals. This will make the center of the flower.
Cut a small slit in each of the petals from the center out, this makes the assembly easier.
Apply glue to the center of each flower.
Begin layering...
Roll up the center flowers and poke it down into the flower with the 3 petals...
This is how it should look now...
Snip off the bottom...so that your flower is flat.
I used a stamp to make the leaves...
Your Finished Flower!!!
A few different ones.
Here is a tutorial on how I make my flowers. Credit to Tara from "Each Moment Only Once" for the tutorial I originally learned from. If you make them let me know...I would love to see them. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Beach Baby...Three Challenges...One Layout!!

Hi my blogger friends...Hope everyones having/had a good Monday!! I did a little house cleaning this morning and spent the rest of the day scrapping. :) Here is a layout that I made for three different challenges. Love when that happens...LOL. This is Ajay's first time at the beach and he loved it..I have some super cute photos of him playing in the fountain that I will be scrapping soon. At first he hated the fact that his hands kept getting dirty, but soon discovered how fun it was playing with his new beach toys. On Scrap That the challenge by the Design Team was to show a cool way of altering chipboard. I used some chipboard Alphas that had a shiny covering..I peeled away the top layer, and added tacky glue and (scrapbooking) beach sand...I bought this a long time ago, so I have no idea who the manufacturer is. After it dried I needed it to pop a little more so I took a marker and colored the edges...(NOTE TO SELF...do that first) LOL.
The second challenge was for Color Combos Galore: The third challenge was for a sketch over at Coordinates Collections
Head on over to these sites and give their challenges a try!!
