New layout of Myah

This is just a very simple layout. I used a cardstock diecut as a template and cut it out of bazzill. I then punched holes along the edges and added ribbon that I twisted and tied. I fussy cut out the leaves that I printed off my computer. The edges are just ribbon that I gathered. The small flowers are Prima & the bigger ones are ribbon flowers from the dollar store.

Eagles & Ospreys

I'm not sure if anyone has been following the Eagle cam & the Osprey cam, but I wanted to let y'all know that the eaglets have hatched. There are 3 healthy baby eagles again this year! It's always a blast to see them being fed ...if you haven't been over to the cam you should take a minute to watch them. There is also a live chat going on during the day where school children are able to ask questions...in my opinion it's pretty cool!
Also last night our female Osprey finally laid her first egg. I have been watching the nest being built and the male bringing in food for her...now she is content to just lay on the nest. I can't wait to see the baby Osprey.

the beans during this process.Preheat oven to 350 F.In a medium-sized bowl,
mix flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. In a separate medium-sized
bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs to the butter/sugar

Two New Recipe Layouts....

Here are a couple of new pages I did for my recipe book and for challenges over at Kitchen Keepsakes. The Pumpkin bars are so simple, but oh so yummy and it's made with mayo !! The second one is/was for St. Patty's Day. I got the recipe for these Irish Coffee Brownie cupcakes from Paula Deen's website. If you're interested in either recipe, just let me know and I will post them.

Oh so adorable...

Hi my sweet blogger friends..Today I have a layout I did for Myah's Christening. Isn't she just too adorable? For this layout I used Bazzill Cardstock & Recollections paper. I stamped the leaves using stamps from Autumn Leaves with versamark and embossed them with clear powder from Stamping Up. Ummmm note to self the embossing gun gets hot enough to burn you..lol ..I'm ok just a good blister on my palm. The doilies, ribbon flowers and plumes are from the dollar store..yup you read that right. The ribbon is from Offray.
It's a simple clean layout, but I wanted the focus to be more on the picture than the layout itself.

My Scraplift layout from Scrapping Daze

Well, I tried something a little different today. I am so inspired by my blogger friend Jen from Scrapping Daze, that I decided to try her style of scrapping. I have soooooooooo much to learn!! She makes scrapping look so easy, but for me it wasn't....leaving that white space is difficult for me. Thank you Jen for your on-going inspiration.

Pi Day Challenge in the Kitchen

Pi Day...nope not a typo! March 14th is Pi Day a celebration of the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, 3.1415, etc. Over at the Kitchen we decided to do a "Pie Challenge" to celebrate "Pi Day". This is an easy peasy Cherry Pie.
For this layout I inked strips of card stock and wove them together to look like the top of a lattice pie. I then sprinkled it with diamond dust and used cherry colored card stock for the background paper. For the fluted edge I used my Martha Stewart punch, scored it at 1/4" and folded it accordion style. After inking them I applied it around the edges of my layout. The title is cut using my cricut and the cherries are clip art that I colored using my Prisma watercolors.

Bread Pudding...

Another recipe layout for my album. At Christmas the entire family went to a restaurant in Bath,Ohio called Ken Stewart's Lodge.. it was a log cabin restaurant and we sat in front of a roaring stone fireplace. The atmosphere was very laid back and cozy. We had a wonderful dinner, but for dessert I had the BEST dessert I have ever had. It was bread pudding, with bourbon infused cherries. I have had a craving for it since then. After searching and searching I finally found this recipe and it's almost as good...not quite but almost.

Fruit Salsa layout & DT call

Yeah!!! I actually scrapped today. Lost my mojo for awhile, but I think it came back today. I was able to finish 4 layouts for my recipe book. Tomorrow I hope to work on some regular layouts for a change. Below you will find one of the layouts that I did today. This was for Kristies challenge over at the Kitchen ...The challenge was to make a recipe layout with a banner. as you can tell I'm not so good at the banner layouts. LOL Of course my recipe book is all done in an 8x8 so the title was just a wee bit to big.

Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Ingredients:
2 kiwis, peeled and diced
2 Fuji apples - peeled, cored and diced
8 ounces raspberries
1 pound strawberries
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
3 tablespoons fruit preserves, any flavor
Grape jelly, Orange marmalade etc…
10 (10 inch) flour tortillas
butter flavored cooking spray
2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar

Directions:

In a large bowl, thoroughly mix kiwis, Golden Delicious apples, raspberries, strawberries, white sugar, brown sugar and fruit preserves. Cover and chill in the refrigerator at least 15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
You can also make a whole tortilla into a bowl, and bake it in a round dish and then serve the salsa in that surrounded by the chips. To save time with the chips, I sprayed 4 tortillas at a time with butter spray, front and back, and then cut them with the pizza cutter. You can also stuff them into mini muffin tins so
that they have the "scoop"effect. Then put the sugar mix ...1 c sugar to 1 t cinnamon, into a bowl and dredge the chips 2 at a time. One batch of the sugar mix did 2+ batches of the chips Cut into wedges and arrange in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven 8 to 10 minutes. Repeat with any remaining tortilla wedges. Allow to cool approximately 15 minutes. Serve with chilled fruit mixture.
