A Challenge from the Kitchen....
This is a quick layout I made for a Challenge over at Kitchen Keepsakes. The challenge was to create a recipe layout dedicated to someone you love, and it had to include your own handwriting. I think I have horrible writing so I think the page looks messy. LOL This is only the 2nd time I have made the rolled flowers...I kinda like the way they turned out...so simple to make. The layout is dedicated to JC's Mom & this is one of her recipes.
Thanks for stopping by!

Osprey & Eagles
For those of you who are new to my blog...on the right are pictures of an Osprey & Bald Eagle. If you click on the pictures it will take you to a live Webcam where you will be able to see them on their nest.
The pair of Eagles have already built their nest and have 3 eggs in it. It is located at the Norfolk Botanical Garden in Norfolk, Virginia. The eggs take about 35-39 days to hatch after they are laid - around mid-March is when we should see them hatch. Last year I was able to watch the babies hatch and also see them tagged. It was trully a wonderful thing to see. I hope you enjoy watching as much as I do. They also have a live chat where they answer questions related to the Eagles and a lot of classrooms from all over the world tune in, it's quite interesting.
The pair of Osprey are not Bella & Bianca from last year, they are a younger pair of Osprey. I'm hoping that last years intruder does not come back and scare them away. This nest is located here on the Island...actually just down the road from us.
Hugs,
Mary

Our trip to Myrtle Beach
Although we went for work, we did get to enjoy the beautiful weather and do a lil sight seeing. Here are just a few pics from Myrtle Beach. These pics are from the "Broadway at the Beach"...
Broadway at the Beach is a 350-acre, festival entertainment complex that offers restaurants, entertainment, nightclubs and shopping. As the largest festival entertainment complex in South Carolina. Broadway at the Beach is home to 19 restaurants, more than 100 specialty shops, two movie theater complexes, a nightclub district and theaters that feature live shows and other major venues.
Enjoy!

Another post today... A Mini Tag Album
No coffee, No shower yet...but a beautiful Sunrise.
Amazing Sunsets...
Who caught the biggest fish?
hmmmm Ty or Dad?and another BIG Bass......
It's a GUY thing.........
This is a mini tag book I am working on. The photos are from our road trip last summer. For those of you who are new to my Blog. JC and I were sitting at the kitchen table eating lunch and I told him I was bored. He said what do you want to do? I'm like I dunno, lets drive somewhere....we were packed and in the car 45 minutes later. We sarted driving towards JC's family in Ohio, then went on to Michigan to see my family. Along the way JC said ..hey why don't we camp? So that's what we did, after visiting with my Mom and sister..we headed to Traverse City to see my son. We purchased tents and sleeping bags and camped. We had a wonderful time sitting around the campfire. We stayed at a State Park next to a lake.. the sunset was amazing. We then headed down state to see JC's youngest son, where we ended up camping at a Private Lake. The pictures in this album are from that camping trip. The lake was stocked with trophy fish... we fished pretty much from Sunrise to Sunset. We then drove to Kentucky to explore Mammoth Cave and then came home after that. We were gone for about two weeks. LOL I haven't told JC lately that I'm bored. Who knows where we might end up next.
More pages yet to come...

Few more recipe Layouts...
I hope y'all are not getting sick of seeing my recipe pages... LOL I am having a blast putting this together. My book of "Lovin from my oven".
This layout was done for Kitchen Keepsakes January Guest Designer Janet's Challenge. The challenge was to do a "Comfort Food" recipe. I choose my "Vanilla French Toast". Our youngest DS always wanted this for breakfast before a big basketball game or on a lazy weekend. I used the paper from "The Shabby Green Door" kit...I just LOVE that kit!!
This is another Recipe Challenge layout by our GD Janet..." Chocolate Challenge". This is a yummy Rasberry Chocolate dessert. Super easy to make. Yes, I made the crochet flower embellishment. :)
Grab a cuppa and join us at the Kitchen Table...we have lots to chat about.

Kitchen Keepsakes February Challenge
Hi Bloggie friends!! Today is my first challenge on Kitchen Keepsakes as a DT member. I hope y'all pop on over and join us at the Kitchen Table.
I came from a big family and although money was tight my Mom always did her best to make the holidays fun ..on Valentines day we could always count on getting a box of conversation hearts or a small box of chocolates . Ya know those ones wrapped in red cellophane paper & a plastic flower attached. LOL Anyways…. with Valentine’s Day just around the corner I thought it would be appropriate to do a Valentines Challenge.
Recipe Ingredients:
Colors - Pink or Red ,chocolate & white
Lace
Heart(s)
Directions:
The challenge is to put a layout together using all the “ingredients” …along with your favorite chocolate recipe. Use the photo for inspiration !!
Here is my layout:
Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) package OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
1 (8 ounce) package Cream Cheese, softened
2 (8 ounce) packages BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate
Directions:
Crush 9 of the cookies to fine crumbs in food processor; reserve for later use.
Crush cookies in the processor AND then add the cream cheese via the same way. You'll know it's well blended when the whole cookie mixture turns into a big blob...it won't be crumbly at all. Chill the dough for about 15 min before rolling. I then chilled the balls (in the freezer) for about 10 min while I melted the chocolate.
Dip 1/2 the batch at at time & then melt the remaining 1/2 of chocolate for the 2nd tray of balls.
Place on waxed paper.Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
Store leftover truffles, covered, in refrigerator.
Thanks for stopping by!
