Liebster (LOVE) Blog Award...

"Thank you for thinking of me Jeni, you made my heart smile"!

I was tagged by my  "Bloggie" friend Jeni (http://jeniflipflop.blogspot.com/ ) and given the "Liebster Blog" award!!! This award is given to recognize a blog that you feel doesn't get the recognition it deserves. I know we all have blogs we follow and wonder, "Why doesn't this person have more followers?". This is a good way to share these blogs with others who normally wouldn't have seen them. Hopefully I will share at least one blog that you haven't had the chance to enjoy. These ladies are Super talented and it was hard to narrow my choice down to just five.

If you have been TAGGED and want to participate? Then create a post where you post the 'LOVE BLOG' image. You should also blog the persons link that gave you the award and inform her/him that you accept the award. You can then choose 3 - 5 favourite blogs which you also link in your post, then each blogger will inform you that they have been tagged

Dear bloggers,

The aim of this action is that we bring unknown, good blogs to light, so I would ask you not to blog fellow bloggers that already have 3,000 followers. I follow so many blogs , but I chose 5 that I think deserve more followers than they have, because in my opinion they make stunning - yes stunning layouts and cards...Please pop over and show them some love - honestly I promise you will NOT be disappointed.

Here are my picks (in no particular order):

LizzyC - Crumbs of Creativity

Jen - Scrapping Daze

Susan - My Paper Passion

Lynn- Creative Crafts By Lynn

Cindy- Cindys Pages In Time

Hope yah don't mind Jeni that I copied your post. :)
Hugs,
Mary

How well do you follow directions?

This was a fun challenge by Suzanne, over at Kitchen Keepsakes. She gave us step by step directions to see how well we followed them.

Step one: gather the following items...
1 piece patterned paper
1 piece coordinating cardstock
1 photo
1 journaling piece
coordinating embellishments

Step two to follow:
Using the cardstock as your base, cut 2 1 1/2" strips and place them on each side of your layout.

Step 3 will come later tonight.
Mat your photo with patterned paper and mount to cardstock 1/2" from side of patterned strip on the left side and 1" down from top.

Step 4
The recipe should be your journaling piece.  Place it at the bottom right corner of your matted photo.

Step 5:

Place title in the "white space" at the bottom center of layout.

Step 6:

Embellish around the recipe.
NOW your finished. Post your layouts now and lets see how good y'all followed directions.

Well mine didn't come out quite as it should have. I use an 8x8 page so it was rather difficult to follow exactly, but I am pleased with the end result.

Sweet Myah....

This is a layout I did this afternoon of Myah's Christening. I am super happy with the way it turned out. I used Prima's Watercolor Rainbow Collection " Whimsy" for the background. Basic Grey's Porcelain & an old Webster page "Your Life Beautiful". I painted chipboard alphas with Making Memories - Strawberries & Cream, then added Diamond Stickles. I punched around the edges with SU's Paper Piercing tool & a Prisma pencil to give it that sewn look.I also used Prima Flowers, Real Doily, Misc. flowers, glossy accents, Martha Stewart Corner punch & Diamond Stickles.

So adorable...

Quick Christmas layout I did a few days ago. Love how it turned. I used Deja Views "Sweet Romance" paper for the background, Wilton doily, page from an old book,Anna Griffin Chip board letters, Offray ribbon and some Christmas greens. I did a lot of distressing and inking on the page to give it an old vintage Christmas feel to it.

New 2010 Mini Christmas Album

This is a mini album that I made from  K&Company Christmas paper & Anna Griffin Christmas Rub-ons. The chipboard album I found at Michael's in the dollar bin. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it came together. I am now working on another Mini for last years Christmas pictures.
